Who is Hridaya Yoga For?

My yoga and meditation offerings are designed for individuals looking to:

  • Reduce stress and anxiety by calming the nervous system.

  • Develop emotional resilience through breathwork and mindfulness practices.

  • Heal from trauma by reconnecting with the body in a safe and supportive way.

  • Enhance self-awareness and inner clarity through stillness and movement.

  • Cultivate a deeper spiritual connection by exploring the heart’s wisdom.

  • Improve overall well-being with gentle, meditative practices that restore balance.

If you feel disconnected from your body, overwhelmed by daily life, or simply searching for a deeper sense of peace, yoga and meditation can provide a path to healing and self-understanding.

My Approach to Hridaya Yoga & Meditation

I teach Hridaya Yoga, a heart-centred approach that integrates traditional yogic postures (asanas) with deep meditation and self-inquiry. This practice is rooted in ancient spiritual traditions, blending elements of Advaita Vedanta, Tantra, and contemplative traditions from various wisdom teachings. The practice of Hridaya Yoga allows us to live in the very “core” of existence, to feel the heartbeat of every moment of life, to know intuitively the eternal dimension of every moment.

Hridaya is a practice that allows you to fall in love with your body and to develop a deeper relationship with yourself.
Hridaya Yoga: Moving with Awareness & Presence

In Hridaya we hold traditional yoga asanas (poses) for a longer time, encouraging deep relaxation which allows tension to be released, the mind to calm, and the body to open to the free flow of energy.

  • Gentle, intentional postures held for longer periods to encourage deep relaxation.

  • Breath awareness techniques to enhance emotional regulation and nervous system balance.

  • Stillness practices that allow for a deepening connection with the inner self.

  • A focus on the heart center, cultivating a sense of peace and openness.

This style of yoga is ideal for those looking to cultivate inner stillness, emotional balance, and a more mindful approach to life.

Meditation & Self-Inquiry: Awakening to the Present Moment

Meditation is at the core of all my teachings. Whether you are new to meditation or have an existing practice, my classes provide a supportive environment to explore mindfulness, breath awareness, and self-inquiry.

  • Silent sitting meditation to develop clarity and inner peace.

  • Guided meditations to help navigate emotions and deepen self-awareness.

  • Breathwork and relaxation techniques to promote healing and reduce stress.

  • Self-inquiry practices to explore the nature of consciousness and self.

These practices help you develop a sense of inner stillness, self-compassion, and deep awareness, supporting both emotional and spiritual growth.

  • What does Hridaya Yoga mean?
Hridaya mean Heart, and so this practice, opens your heart to what the present moment is as it is, not the thoughts, not the judgements not the harshness. Hridaya Yoga, the Yoga of the Spiritual Heart, is a spiritual path whose purpose is the revelation of our true nature, or, as it is known in contemplative traditions, the Spiritual Heart. Developed by meditation teacher Sahajananda, Hridaya Yoga is based on traditional spiritual principles and visions from classical yoga based on Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, Advaita Vedanta, Tantra, and Kashmiri Shaivism. They are further correlated with teachings from Sufism, Christianity, Buddhism, and Taoism.
  • What is Psychedelic Assisted Integration?
Psychedelic-Assisted Integration is a therapeutic process designed to help individuals make sense of and integrate insights gained from expanded states of consciousness, such as those experienced during personal psychedelic journeys. This integration work is essential in translating profound or challenging experiences into meaningful, lasting changes in everyday life. In our sessions, I provide a safe and supportive space for you to explore and process your experience—before and after your journey. This may include helping you prepare mentally and emotionally beforehand, setting intentions, and building tools for self-reflection. After your experience, we work together to unpack what arose, make sense of symbolic or emotional content, and explore how to apply these insights in a way that supports your personal growth, healing, and well-being. It’s important to note that I do not provide psychedelics, facilitate journeys, or offer guided psychedelic experiences. My role is to support your therapeutic process through integration, helping you conceptualise and understand your private journey within a grounded and informed framework. This approach is rooted in psychology, somatic awareness, and nervous system regulation, ensuring you feel supported in bringing your experiences into daily life in a meaningful way.

  • What is Psychotherapy?
Arnold Mindell’s Process Oriented Psychology is a mystical form of psychotherapy which is deeply embedded in eastern spirituality that allows healing to come from cultivating awareness. As the name suggests, Process Oriented Psychology or Process Work is a process in itself, evolving and dynamic in its nature. The roots, like a lotus blossoming, stem from the influence of Jungian psychology, Taoism, Quantum Physics, contemplative traditions and non-duality. Process work integrates multiple modalities including resource therapy, non-dual therapy, mindfulness, narrative therapy, somatic and body work, movement therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy and motivational interviewing. Process work is a platform in which we can bridge psychology and spirituality. It recognises and invites us to explore somatics (body sensations), dreams, relationships, movement tendencies and our connection with our society and culture. Our insights and realisations lead to deep transformations and sustainable change in your world.
  • What Psychotherapy is not
Psychotherapy is not like talk therapies. As with all forms of different paradigms in health and healing, each modality has its own frame of reference. I don't assess, interpret, analyse or pathologise what may be happening for you, but rather follows the "process". Everything is welcome.
  • What is Somatic Therapy?
Somatic Therapy is a body-focused approach to healing, informed by the fundamental concept that our emotions are held in the body. Rather than relying solely on talk therapy, it encourages direct connection with the body’s felt experience in the present moment. In sessions, I am there to guide and support you in tuning into your body’s natural responses. This process allows the body's innate intelligence to regulate and complete cycles that may have been stuck due to past trauma. By working with the body rather than against it, Somatic Therapy helps to restore balance to the nervous system and release stored emotional tension. This is a relational modality, integrating neuroscience and polyvagal theory to help you reconnect with a deep sense of authenticity and safety. It serves as a gateway to coming home to yourself—supporting you in feeling more grounded, present, and emotionally regulated.

  • What Does a session involve?
In our first session together, my aim is to truly get to know you and establish a therapeutic connection that allows us to work together towards your goals and aspirations. I want to know what you hope to achieve through our sessions. What changes are you seeking to make in your life? What are the deepest desires of your heart? As we continue our sessions, our focus will be on exploring your inner processes, engaging in self-reflection, and fostering greater awareness of your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. We'll have open and honest dialogues, where you can freely share your thoughts and feelings, and I'll facilitate guidance and support every step of the way. It's important to me to recognise that every individual is unique, and so is our therapeutic relationship. I approach each session with an open mind and heart and a willingness to adapt to your specific needs and preferences. Together, we'll co-create a safe and supportive space where you can explore, grow, and ultimately thrive.
